In 1996, I opened the doors to my first Virtual Company. This was a very general business with no specific type of client. So that made it really difficult to be knowledgeable about my client’s needs and pro-active to jump-start their business. I became the Jack of all Trades and the Master of None.
In 2000, I decided I need more focus so I could really help my clients build and grow their business. I decided to niche in Real Estate. My first job in high school was a real estate office. My first PT job after college was another real estate office. So I knew I had the background. As an industry leader in this field, I had to train myself. I worked with vendors and service providers to learn more about their products and services and began my company, REVA Online, where I provided Real Estate Virtual Assistance.
Supporting a huge number of Real Estate Agents, became quite a task and I hired on Team Members who were specialists in their area of real estate support (websites, content, listings, leads, etc.). But that was also quite a plateful, especially when social media began to take over and we had to adapt to all the other tasks and then take on the Real Estate Blogging & Social Media Marketing part of the job. So I decided to Micro-Niche and I have built my company on Social Media marketing and Blogging for real estate.
